Colmov (v1)

by colseed

This game was made based on a number of the themes in George Orwell's novel 1984.

You play as a worker robot in a colorless, conformist, 1984-like world dominated by an oppressive society in which all are watched and those who attempt to rise up are destroyed.

[As a result of an incident with the only copy of the program being stored on a flash drive, I no longer have the source for this; as such, I'll describe some of the gameplay and such here:]

Controls:
A/D = move left/right
W = boost (jump)
mouse = look/aim
mouse left click/hold = use selected equipment
1 = switch to work arm
2 = switch to spraycan arm
3 = switch to paintball gun arm
space = activate/deactivate distinguishing green aura
R/B/G/Y = switch color for painting

Some things to consider:
- Points are earned by painting walls and other robots.
- Avoid being seen by cambots (white, hovering, spherical robots whose field of vision is indicated by a transparent blue cone-thing). If they go on alert, guardbots (black, diamond-shaped robots) will begin to spawn. (They have guns. They also shoot somewhat indiscriminately.)
- Tip for stealth: cambots (and sometimes guardbots) can't tell the difference between you and other workers if you look just like the other workers (by having a work arm equipped).
- THERE IS NO END TO THIS - you keep going until your robot is destroyed. Scores are recorded to a text file located in the same folder as the game. Formatting for the scores is:
[NAME]
[TIME IN SECONDS]
[SCORE]
For reference, my highscore (using only one color of paint) was 1193 seconds, 7519 points. : )

All programming was done by me (colseed).
The background music was composed and recorded by myself. (The lack of sound effects is intentional.)
