The Ascent was originally created over a three-day period at Toronto’s annual independent game workshop, TO Jam (2009). Shortly thereafter, v2.0 of the game was released at the showcase event, TO Jam Arcade.

The game has appeared in EDGE Magazine, Game Developer Magazine; on GameSetWatch and Aboot Play.
