Small game that I made for school based on Henry David Thoreau. If you don't know who he is, this might not have any significance to you, but still check it out. I had 1 week to do this, so it's not quite complete, but I'm done working on it so I'll list it as complete anyway 🙄
Point of the game: survive in the wilderness while maintaining Thoreau's philosophical beliefs. You have a health bar and a philosophy bar, if either of them run out, you lose. Your health bar is constantly going down due to hunger and whatnot. Thoreau was into simplicity... so, if you eat something, you get health, but if it's un-necessarily fancy, like a burger, your philosophy goes down. Same with clothes and staying in a shelter.
If you have an axe or a pickaxe, you can cut wood or mine for brick to build a shelter (but your axe/pickaxe might break in the process!). The icons at the bottom of the screen light up yellow if you can build a weak shelter, and green if you can build a strong one. Clothing and shelter is pretty much only useful if the weather is bad.
Controls: WASD to move around, mouse for pretty much everything else. Click on something to eat/use it. If you have an axe, click on a tree to get logs. If you have a pickaxe, click on the rock pile in the far east. If you have a hoe, you can farm beans in the center farm patch and it'll take about 3 or 4 minutes for the beans to be ready (ever play farmville?).
Anyway, this was a rushed job, nothing huge. Still, check it out, leave feedback, ask questions, whatever. I'm kinda proud of it 😊
