This is a simple shooter that I made. It borrows heavily from Hero Core in the area of gameplay, though I created all of the graphics and code myself. The graphics are influenced by games like Cave Story, Metroid, etc. Note that this is my very first game, so please try to lend CONSTRUCTIVE criticism that would help to make the game not so boring. I haven't the slightest idea how to create music and sound affects, so there are currently none. Now to the game:
All story elements have been removed, as not to give away the plot when the game isn't even in beta.
Controls:
Arrow keys to move, joysticks will not work because I don't know how to code for them yet.
X and Z to shoot and change direction.
Space bar for map. The map is incomplete and causes the game to lag on slower computers.
Shoot save boxes to record progress.
Also this is not the full map, I don't want to share the whole map and all of the bosses/enemies and story.
Everything is incomplete and subject to change.
Also to move the window just click inside of it and drag.
Oh and please don't complain about the lighting in caves. It was very hard to create smooth dynamic lighting and at the same time not have a significant impact on frame rate...
