Procedural generation allows for almost huge landscapes and more to be generated at runtime instead of saved that would take a lot of data if the world is very large and complex. This is an simple 2D example of procedural generation but this can also work in 3D without any large changes. It does still has some bugs that I didn't manage to fix but...
