Similar to Raiden or Gradius, it's a top-down vertical space shooter.

Update:
I've uploaded a newer version which fixes some minor issues, and dropped the file size by almost half. Also, instead of dieing when your life runs out, the game will freeze for a second, then your life will refill and the game continues. This is for testing purposes, so people give me a general rating of difficulty without having to endlessly play a certain part that kills them.
